LOCKE TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

TUES. SEPT. 30, 2025   [rescheduled from Sept. 16th ]   7:00 PM

LOCKE TOWNSHIP HALL, 3805 BELL OAK RD, WMSTN

 

Members present:  Jordan Smith, Dorothy Hart, Bruce Miller, Duane Pinckney, Ty Hull.

Also present:  Brad Kotrba, Planner – Williams & Works.

 

Call to order by Chairperson Smith @ 7 PM, Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Approval / Additions to agenda.  None.

 

Action on August 19, 2025 minutes.  Motion Pinckney, second Hull to approve.  PASSED.

 

Unfinished Business.  None.

 

New Business:  Zoning Ordinance update-Article 11 Special Land Uses [pages 11-1 thru 11-18]

Review/discussion led by Planner Kotrba, included:

pg 11-2 #7 Appeals.  Clarify circuit court only, no appeal to ZBA

pg 11-4 #2 C Review Standards. Change those standards to Zoning Ordinance standards

pg 11-12 Section 11.03.15 Funeral Homes #5. ‘Crematorium’ expand regulations or make

reference to State regulations

09-16-2025 Williamstown Twp, draft Master Plan, distribution for 63 day review

09-24-2025 Perry Township, intent to amend Master Plan

 

Concerns/comments of PC Members, Zoning Administrator and Consultants.

Update of Haslett Rd/M-52 party store.  Parcel has been purchased.  More info to be submitted.

Inquiry re: berm on Corey Rd., south of Haslett Rd.  Refer to current Zoning Ordinance regulations.

 

Meeting Adjournment.  Motion Hull, second Miller to adjourn at 8:51 PM.  PASSED.

 

Next meeting October 21st :  Revised Article 11 Special Land Uses [with noted additions/revisions]
