LOCKE TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION 

 MEETING MINUTES

September 17, 2019         7:00 PM

Present:  Kitchenmaster, Cook, Flint, VanDooren, Davis, Turner, Hart.  Also, present, David Carlson, Dale McGoron.

Absent:  None.

Call to Order at 7 PM.  Pledge of Allegiance.

Corrections/additions to agenda:  None.

Approval /Corrections to PC minutes of 7/16/2019:  Motion VanDooren, second Davis to approve the minutes of 7/16/2019 Planning Commission special meeting.  PASSED.

Public Comment:  None.

Discussion on Blight Ordinance.  Advantages and disadvantages discussed and how a Blight Ordinance could fit in Locke Township.  Example of a Blight Ordinance (Berrien Springs) distributed by Kitchenmaster [Exhibit 1]. VanDooren suggested input from Eidelson (Landplan) pertaining to a Blight Ordinance.  Possibility of an individual from the Health Department attending a PC meeting to provide information and answer questions.

New Business:  None.

Concerns/Comments, PC, ZA, Consultants, etc.:  Update on Potter SLU from ZA Hart on amendment to site plan concerning location of a building.

Public Comment:  Dale McGoron commented that the PC should be proactive with a Blight Ordinance and come up with something that will fit in Locke Township.

Adjournment:  Motion Flint, second Davis to adjourn meeting.  PASSED.
